Back stage we are also applying for funding for the car park that serves the park to be resurfaced and marked out in to proper parking bays- with designated disabled parking bays too.As a group we are trying very hard to make the facilities at the park as accessible as possible to all our users.

The group have applied for funding from the above for the second phase of development at Charnock Park. This is for the fitness circuit around the bottom part of the field, outdoor any age gym equipment, and improvements to the gennel leading from Arnold Avenue on to the Playing field.

We have just had our summer newsletter printed and this has been distributed through school, Sunflower Childrens centre, through some local businesses - Thanks ! and we have started to post some to local residents through their doors too.

We have learned at short notice from Activity Sheffield that the play rangers van which caters for younger children between 3:30pm to 5:30pm on Thursdays. Will now attend on Thursdays between 12 noon and 2:00pm until 26th August.

We are pleased that we have been successful in securing £1365 from the above.

In Dec 09, the group advised you that we had been successful in securing funding from the You Choose fund for additional benches/ picnic tables. These have now been installed and are being very well used. Thanks once again to all the members of the community who voted for us at the event, which enabled us to get these additions to the park.

We held a public consultation at Gleadless Library to show the masterplan to residents and to give the opportunity to comment.

We are pleased to advise you that the improvements on site under the above initiative are well under way now on the left hand side of the playing field.

e now have a lovely basket swing installed in the recreation area by the side of the latest swings, and it is very popular- regularly having about 5-6 children hung on it at a time.
