Wild Flower Seeding 22nd Sept 2011 - Rangers/ Friends

Another successful event today , the rangers from Parks and Countryside - Sheffield City Council attended alongside a couple of the Friends of group.

Around 60 -Charnock Hall Primary School pupils , Year 3 's came along with their teachers to help seed an area of land with wildflowers. Other activities took place with the children which involved learning about seeds, where they come from, types of , how do they get planted/spread and then finding and collecting seeds to take away to plant . Also another activity involved learning about plants, what they need to grow and develop, and then finding and describing plants.

The children were great and once again had a fabulous time- Thankyou to the rangers team and the staff/children from Charnock Hall Primary school for attending and helping at this event.

The wildflower seeds have been planted with funding from the recent National lottery- Community spaces programme.- successful bid.
